Safety concerns but great staff deserve a mention

First things first, all the staff, particularly Eric on reception, do a splendid job of welcoming you to the hotel, however passing the multitude of rough sleeping homeless people on the approach to the hotel meant we didn’t feel safe leaving the hotel and certainly not after sunset. Transit into the city is therefore restricted to Uber’s as unlike other local buses we have used in other US cities we didn’t feel safe using them. The additional ‘guest safety tips’ provided with the room key did not help to alleviate any concerns about our security. In fact our first morning as we stepped outside the hotel we were confronted by a homeless gentleman begging for food, unfortunately we didn’t have any food or cash so were unable to help, although the hotel did let him get a hot coffee. The hotel itself is dated and in need of some TLC, the room had an unpleasant musty smell to it and was rather grubby in some areas although the beds were clean and comfy. The TV reception was useless on all channels so bring a book or laptop for entertainment, although the personal security software on my laptop blocked the Internet sign-in page so I had to hotspot from my phone. Breakfast was best described as underwhelming and again there were plastic cups, paper plates and plastic cutlery. This may turn out to be a standard US practice in budget hotels only time will tell but it always feels like you’re being treated like a child. Overall we couldn’t recommend staying here for anything more than a bed for the night, ironically their $150 room deposit (ransom fee) was higher than many of the higher calibre accommodations we have recently stayed at, but was returned 3 days after our departure.

Initially, I thought this would have been a good hotel with its convenient location to downtown ATL. Boy, was I wrong. This hotel had two good things going for it: breakfast and the staff. The rest was less than appealing in any way shape or form. And to be honest, we were not expecting a 5 star hotel, but for a Choice hotel it was a disappointment. First the good. The breakfast was very good. It had all the typical items associated with breakfast, so it was a good one. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Now, the bad. The room, an ADA room, should not be considered an ADA room. Just because the bathroom is large, does not mean it's ADA worthy. The room was 1127. The only assist bar was behind the toilet. I don't know who that accommodates? On the wall close to the toilet was this embarrassingly small towel rack that got in the way when you stood up from the toilet. The roll-in shower had no bars and the floor was not a tacky type flooring, so when it was wet, it was somewhat slippery. Speaking of the shower, there was no hot water. When I called the front desk, he said, "You need to let the water run for a little bit." I told him I let it run for almost 15 minutes, so I had to take a cold shower. My wife, for which we got the ADA room, was unable to shower due to the lack of hot water. Note: The GM did credit my charge $30. The sink was more akin to a public restroom and not a hotel. Lastly, the carpet was old and musty, the couch was so dirty, I had to throw the bed cover over it just to sit down. Do I need to continue?

Eric was great and kind thank you so much for your hospitality I would come to Country Inn Suites again it was pleasant and nice I wish I could of stayed longer to rest but definitely next time I enjoyed my stay

Garbage hotel, staff and service. Was booking online - kept saying that transaction isn't going through. I book a different hotel. 15min later I get notification that country inn has successfully booked me. They would neither refund me or atleast change the dates. No staff was willing to help or compromise.
